Build AI Systems That Work
Under Real Conditions

Nullabyte runs structured, engineer-led courses on the tooling, infrastructure, and production practices that model development actually depends on. Based in Penang, open to learners across Malaysia and beyond.

Three Tracks, One Progression

Each track builds directly on the previous one. You can enter at the level that matches your current knowledge and move forward from there.

Engineering Foundations
TRACK-01  ·  RM 495

Engineering Foundations for AI

A seven-week course on the software engineering that model work depends on: testing, packaging, dependency management, containers, reproducible environments, and version control for data as well as code.

  • 8 hours per week
  • Graded exercises & tutor code review
  • Cohort channel access
  • Written record of course completion

Systems and Serving Track

A fifteen-week track on getting models into production: inference servers, batching, quantisation, caching, monitoring, evaluation in the wild, and cost accounting per request.

  • 11 hours per week + 2 live sessions
  • Cloud credits included
  • Three assessed deployments
  • Written record of course completion

Practitioner Capstone
TRACK-03  ·  RM 4,160

Practitioner Capstone Residency

A twenty-two week residency where each learner takes a real problem and delivers a working system with documentation, tests, monitoring, and a written technical report.

  • Weekly mentoring from a practising engineer
  • Fortnightly architecture reviews
  • Hosted demonstration & alumni forum

What Sets the Programme Apart

Engineering First

Courses treat model work as a software discipline, not a notebook exercise. Packaging, containers, and reproducibility are covered from week one.

Production Scope

Topics extend past training into inference serving, load testing, cost accounting, and monitoring — the work that keeps a system running after go-live.

Cohort Accountability

Learners work alongside a cohort and receive code review from tutors. Exercises are assessed, not self-marked.

Cloud Credits Provided

Track 02 and Track 03 include cloud credits so learners can run real deployments without managing their own billing accounts from day one.

Practitioner Mentoring

The Capstone Residency pairs each learner with a working engineer for weekly one-to-one sessions and fortnightly architecture reviews.

Written Completion Record

Every track issues a written record of completion. The Capstone also produces a technical report and a hosted demonstration that learners can share.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the courses designed for?
The Engineering Foundations track is written for developers who have some Python experience and want to understand the infrastructure side of machine learning. The Systems and Serving track suits engineers who can already train a model but have not yet run one under production load. The Capstone Residency is for practitioners ready to work on a problem from a real organisation or their own workplace.
How does the course work — is it self-paced or scheduled?
All three tracks run on a cohort schedule with fixed start dates. Materials are available online, but exercises have submission deadlines and tutor feedback is tied to the cohort calendar. The Systems and Serving track includes two live sessions per cohort period. The Capstone Residency has weekly mentor sessions that are scheduled individually.
What is the time commitment each week?
Engineering Foundations asks for around eight hours a week across seven weeks. Systems and Serving runs for fifteen weeks at approximately eleven hours per week. The Capstone Residency spans twenty-two weeks; the time varies by project but includes one weekly mentor session and fortnightly architecture reviews.
What does the written record of completion show?
The completion record states the track name, the topics covered, the duration of study, and the assessed components that were submitted and passed. It is issued by Nullabyte and can be shared with employers or included in a portfolio. For the Capstone, the hosted demonstration and technical report serve as additional evidence of the work done.
Are cloud costs included in the fee?
Cloud credits are provided in Track 02 (Systems and Serving) and Track 03 (Capstone Residency) to cover the deployments and load-testing exercises included in those tracks. Track 01 (Engineering Foundations) runs primarily on local environments and does not require cloud spend during the course.
Can I take Track 02 or Track 03 without completing the earlier track?
Yes. Each track has its own entry requirements rather than requiring a Nullabyte prerequisite. If you already work with containerised environments and version control daily, you may be well suited to enter at Track 02. Write to us and describe your current background; we will suggest where to start.
Is the programme available to learners outside Malaysia?
All course materials and sessions are delivered online. Learners from anywhere are welcome to enrol. Fees are listed in Malaysian Ringgit; payment arrangements can be discussed at enrolment.
